High potential of overmolding

The LEMAN INDUSTRIE Group's high skills in molding and overmolding are based on a broad culture of materials and mastery of hybrid techniques. Overmolding of metal-plastic inserts and subassemblies meets many product requirements, increases technical feasibility and generates industrial performance.

Extensive technicality and capabilities

With a fleet of 100 injection presses (pressure from 22 to 500T, injection 1 to 150 grams), the production capacities and multidisciplinary approaches of the Engineering support make it possible to respond to specific product needs and specifications: combination of materials, optimization of resistance, appearance, etc.

What is overmolding?

Overmolding involves introducing an insert (axle, screw, magnet, plastic part) into the mold before injection. This component is then partially or completely coated by the injected material, creating a direct connection without mechanical assembly.
This technique is ideal for strengthening mechanical strength, adding a function (conductivity, magnetism), or avoiding a subsequent operation. It can replace costly bi-injection or a bonding phase. Performed on vertical or horizontal presses, overmolding requires high precision in insert positioning to guarantee the quality and repeatability of the process.
